It’s not. It’s a corporate expense. Just like lawyers at firms get CLE for free or if you are going to a symposium, your company pays those expenses. It’s just a business expense. When you were just entering your field, your employer probably trained you. For example, when I was a lawyer and I had a first year attorney working with me and I had to “train” them; I didn’t bill that to the client, had a specific internal billing code that the company ate. They didn’t pass that expense to the first year and charge them or 1099 them for the expense.
