It sorta makes sense that Block could say no because he’s leaving and he wants his successor to make that decision. From Jarmonds perspective, you gotta be pissed if you your boss says no to your decision regarding the most important part of your job. The single most important thing in the athletic department is the football coach. Everything else is a distant second.
Alternatively, Wasserman is really running the AD and I believe he’s actually quoted as saying no to Chip being terminated.
I also find it head scratching Chip would be interviewing for the Iowa OC position. That’s quite a step down. I couldn’t understand Ohio State or the NFL, but either way he’s leaving a ton of $$ on the table to take an OC position anywhere.
