Former Wisconsin head coach who got surprisingly fired after 5 games in 2022. 72% win percentage including 70% in conference after 8 seasons. 58 years old, but knows the Big Ten. Was a "special assistant to head coach" at Texas last season and is due to be an analyst this season.
Otherwise someone like Tony White, current DC at Nebraska. His defenses have done well at Syracuse and now Nebraska last season. Got a pay increase from 1M to 1.6M this offseason. A Bruin, 44 years old, no head coaching experience but a respected coordinator with tangible results on the defensive side.
I would also assume someone like David Shaw would have their hat thrown in. He was 14-28 his last 4 seasons at Stanford so that would be a no for me.
