You misinterpreted what I’m saying. Thr teams will still be affiliated with the University and the players would still be students. Thereby keeping their current fanbases. They would not be governed by the NCAA. As an aside you can see this occurring VERY soon with the recent lawsuits against the NCAA by multiple State AGs in response to current NIL investigations. It’s just a matter of time (which seems to be getting closer every day) that the SEC and 10 are forming a Premier League.

I hate to break it to you, but college football is currently the minor leagues and has been for some time. The obviousness is just more in our faces because you have some players making 7 figures and many getting cars/trucks just for being members of a unit or team. Now they need to find a way to share the $$ that the football team generates.

I’m not an expert of Title IX but if they become employees, they are not similarly situated with other sports.
