More troubling is having multiple teams carbon footprint

You would think that in the face of the climate crisis, universities would lead the way in minimizing their carbon footprint. Why does any university need two varsity basketball teams; or two varsity teams in the same sport in general when the planet is boiling? Twice as much travel. Twice as much facility heating and cooling. It's madness!

ALL sports that currently have women's and men's teams ought to be coed. Have one team and let the best players at the university represent. In a time when draconian measures are being advocated by the WEF and others, flagrantly support dual varsity sports is just irresponsible.
