better than people who actually studied that thing professionally. At least OB did. He had very clear ideas about climate change, genetics, and languages, the three obvious things that pop in my mind, better than anyone else, including experts, because OMG, he had a PhD in physics.
I'd like to believe that not all PhDs in physics claim a direct line to the inner working of every area because they understand physics. It must've been just him.
