Coordinator contracts in the NFL aren’t structured like that. There are no obligations for coordinators to pay any buyout to leave for another job that is an “upgrade”. Their contracts also aren’t that long, so it’s usually liquidated damages are easy to calc, thus no buyouts like college coaches. You’re just paying the reminder of the contract (which are never all that long for coordinators or assistants). Also, the coaches have a duty to mitigate. So tv contracts or new jobs get deducted from amounts owed.
