Ivy League II is probably unreasonable, given the amount of travel that's involved. That's despite the fact that we just joined a conference with teams on the eastern seaboard, but the point of Ivy League II would be diminished expectations and there would be no reason.
Mountain West II seems like a better idea. It'd be lesser football expectations + basketball.
For the pedants out there, this isn't serious, I'm not thinking about current conference obligations or TV contracts or anything else, just throwing out names for the sake of discussion, so relax.
Ivy League II;
UCLA, Kal, Stanford, OSU, WSU, Rice, Wake, Vandy, Northwestern and Air Force.
Mountain West II;
UCLA, Kal, Stanford, OSU, WSU, San Jose St., San Diego St., Air Force, Long Beach State, Gonzaga, UCSB and UNLV.
MWII would be an interesting basketball conference. Lots of chances for short and fun road trips. Seems better than where we're headed...
