Washington State just finished the 2018-2019 football campaign as the highest ranked team in the PAC 12 (finished in the Top 10 in both the coaches and media poll) and did it relying primarily on 3* and 2* talent. Not a single recruiting class in the past five recruiting cycles for Washington State ranked higher than #42 in the country (most of the recruiting classes weren't even in the Top 50).
I would rather have a 3* player with heart and commitment over a 5*/4* primadonna player any day. What the UCLA program needs is some stability that the 3* players can bring in. We've had too many primadonna 5*/4* recruits cry about not being on the starting roster and transfer out. I want guys who want to be at UCLA and be part of building a strong team.
Have some faith in Chip Kelly. He transformed a 2* running back (Joshua Kelley) into one of the best running backs UCLA has had in the past decade. I trust that he will get the most out of this recruiting class as well.
