concerning Davis, even though he was high on UCLA early on and Cronin really likes him, it appears that right now Gonzaga is rumored to be leading in his recruitment. On one hand some may see this as Cronin's diminishing cachet in the recruitment arena, but another way of looking at it is that Cronin has done so well in recruitment (high schoolers and transfers) that right now there may be little room for anyone new next season. We'll see how that plays out - spots could open up or maybe there might be just one of two. The current culture in college basketball has rendered high school recruiting as possibly questionable when weighing untried high schoolers versus proven transfers and the money involved.
