My sense is that your typical Bruin fan misses, in this new era, the familiarity that develops when players play here for 4 years (as minor contributors to start, maybe, and then progressing to more).
This may be true of all fans. I don't know. I only monitor Ucla fan boards.
Even though almost all the major players on this team started somewhere else, Ucla fan got plenty of time to "know" each of the women, and that's the kind of connection the fans have been craving.
It will be interesting to see if the fans connect with the fb and/or men's bball team to the same extent. I hope it doesn't have to take winning an NC to produce that connection. Only one team wins a title each year.
Is a final four enough? It probably would be for me. Hell, if Ucla made the cfp, that would be enough for me.
