Basketball GM Max Feldman has been watching games and evaluating who might be available and a target all season.
I imagine they are paying particular attention to schools that have fired their coach or are about to. Players often leave in large numbers when their coach leaves.
Behind the scenes, players' agents have been reaching out to schools.
It will get a lot more intense when the portal officially opens and hundreds of guys put their names in, but the evaluation and the contacts are already happening.
Cronin said that from this point on, his sole focus is on roster retention and building.
