We need a solid real actual center - someone capable of defending the rum on defense and forcing opponents to have to include scheming against him when we have the ball.
We need a real, quick point guard, someone who can penetrate, get the ball to his teammates and defending the opponents' quickest players.
And we need much better athleticism all around but especially on the wings.
Plus we have to replace some serious shooting ability. Starting with Bilodeau's spot, Clark's if he can't return. I'd say at least two wings and one more big.
It's an absolute must that we have players capable of playing Cronin's defensive scheme and that we fill the full range of positions on defense including post, wings and guards.
Freeny is tough and can defend though he's not the quickest to my eye. Booker and Dailey can shoot the ball - Dailey can rebound it and Booker has a full off season and now a year behind him to improve on defense and rebounding. But neither is an answer to the post deficit. Clark adds some defense on the perimeter but Perry lacks lateral quickness out there - he should improve on defense his third season though - it will be key for him to learn to anticipate better to make up for his quickness deficit to top opposing guards as illustrated last night. I like Jamar Brown's all around game but his lack of height and quickness kept him from being the overall contributor many had hoped he would be.
