1. You don't know what has gone on historically re: his behavior and warnings or discussions about it. Even if he dismissed them.
2. If they have discussed conduct with him then a "waiver" argument by UCLA would not concern me all that much. Being a well-known hard-nosed coach is one thing. Being and unrelenting and non-apologetic a hole time and time again is another.
3. Also, you could arguably look at the aggregate of the unseemly behaviors and argue this is the straw that broke the camel's back.
4. His historical outbursts have been outward, this is very different. He grabbed a UCLA kid during a game in front of a hostile crowd on Peacock, shoved him toward the tunnel and then directed an f bomb at the confused "student" even when the kid was complying, and now that clip along with bullying another apparent student from MSU in the hallway afterward is circulating on social media for the WORLD to see. and frankly he pursued ithe reporter when the reporter dismissed it and tried to move on, is also very disturbing.
5. I have to guess that the BIG10 conference is not happy with this look and his treatment of his own players and the folks who report on this.
It will be interesting to see how he is received Saturday.
I think his buyout drops after the season by $4MM so unless he continues to be unrepentant and more hostile, I think if anything will come of it, it will be after April 1.
2 cents worth.
