He is averaging 13.5pts, 7ast and shooting 41.3%. They are decent numbers ,but are they $3 million worth? At $3 million I would expect All-American level play from him. Something closer to the 20pts and 45% per he was averaging at New Mexico. I am not sure he will even make All Big-10 second team. He is facing much tougher competition, but he has struggled to adjust. Hindsight is 20/20 so I am not sure I can blame Cronin. Dent looked NBA ready, but it just hasn't turned out that way.
I am not sure what to make of Booker. He is clearly playing out of position. He is a 4, not a 5. He is averaging 7.2pts, 3.7rbs, 55%. He does not like contact which makes playing the center position difficult. He needs to gain at least 20 pounds of muscle if he really want to compete against elite talent. There have been very few that could play at high level and be that thin, and he is no Kevin Durant. I think he can be a decent player so I hope he stays.
This season is quickly slipping away so it should be interesting to see who goes and who stays. Will Cronin have the NIL to put a better team on the court come next year? Will players want to come here?
