Open question on Booker’s dunk that was called off…

… after replay, on the clock violation . First, I agree that he did not let go of the ball until the clock had expired. Maybe 1/10th of a second late.

Bug… I would guarantee you that while he was still holding the ball, the ball made contact with the rim, prior to the clock winding to zero.

So my question is, why would not clock not reset at the point that happened, with the shot then being legitimate? Is it because the fabulous BIG refs didn’t even think to check that? Or is there some specific to the rule that says the clock would not reset under that particular contact?
