A game of extreme runs which I doubt anyone expected.
That said, really proud of the home boys who battled back and are playing off even the #4 team in the land. And, they're doing so despite an expected shellacking on the boards, 12-18 (2-6 in O rebounds).
One aspect to clutch yourselves ~ Booker has 7 points on 3-4 shooting in the 1H; Braden Smith has 2-pts on 1-6 shooting. The 2 chances of that replicating itself in the 2H are slim and none.
Good to see the refs letting them play, as UCLA has only 3 team fouls; Purdue only 2. I'm concerned that Purdue's bigs will assert themselves in the 2H + they're deeper than UCLA viz 11 pts vs 0 UCLA bench points. Hence my pointing out the PFs as no one is in foul trouble which aids CMC's task of being able to play his starters extended mins.
Hoping for an uptick in the 2H from Bilo on the O side. Dent taking a lot of criticism, but his game-high (by a country mile) of 6 dimes has been absolutely critical in our surprise playing #4 even in the opening 20 mins.
GO BRUINS!
