That extension, I believe, wasn't given capriciously. I think UCLA wanted to keep him for awhile. I think Cronin has time to redo his team and also develop it. I think many fans may not be happy about it, but I think Cronin may have three or four years to right his program. Maybe I'm wrong, but right now that's how I read the situation. Of course what happens in between also is a factor as to how long Cronin has. If everything implodes he may have 1 or maybe 2 years. Baring anything like that he probably has 3 or 4 and if he makes huge inroads toward improvement another extension could be forthcoming. We'll see.
