Oregon, playing with both Shelstad and Bittle (their two best players) injured and not available for this game actually lead Michigan at the half 41 to 40 and played them close for much of the second half before losing. They actually out scrapped Michigan most of the game and really seemed to want the game more than Michigan until Michigan woke up the last 4-5 minutes of the game.
