It's very probable that when we play Michigan in February, they'll be a one-loss team - and that loss will be by 3 points to UConn.
LSU hasn't beaten anyone. They're good, but I don't think there is any basis for saying they're better than Michigan.
We've been very different offensively since the first half of the Texas game. It's no longe all-Lauren-in-the-post-all-the-time. So, I was kind of disappointed to hear Coach Close say that the big difference from last year that we'd prevent to UConn is better shooting, hence, more people to defend on the perimeter, more time to get a shot off. If we face UConn and play the same way we played last time, we'll get whupped again. The good news, is we're not playing that way now.
Interesting that Close said that Lauren is working on her threes. Imo, for this team, that's not going to move the needle. If she can shoot well enough that opponents have to defend her out to like 7-10 feet from the basket, that would be awesome. That would open the space under the basket for another player to post, or for cutters.
Biggest news from the post-game comments: they are trying to get another year of eligibility for Timea. That would be huge.
