O team, if you can show me a bball court, anywhere in the world, that displays a scoreboard with a running count of points per possession.
I will gladly concede your point, if you can show me a correlation between teams with top tier points per possession and top tier Scoring Offense teams, inclusive of teams like UCLA who rank dismally low in possessions/game.
If you are correct, the leaders in Scoring Offense stats ranked by the NCAA, or as I like to call it, SCOREBOARD, would be peppered with teams like UCLA who rank bigly in points per possession and yet also rank among the top tier of teams in fewest possessions per game, where UCLA’s subpar O stands out like a sore thumb.
Now, sure, there are likely some teams that can grind a game down to a defensive battle where they are able to take the air out of the ball and who then can claim SCOREBOARD by virtue of their superior points per possession. But, I doubt you can put a bow on that combination and convince hoopheads that UCLA is an O colossus. It’s laughable that that could pass the eye test of hoopheads like those here who have watched UCLA on O in the dozen games to date.
