Under normal circumstances, I’d agree with you about eventual improvement but I don't think we'll get to what you described this year. I do think we’re already seeing some progress. Booker, in particular, has improved significantly in the areas Cronin emphasizes. I really hope he stays another year. When you compare Mara’s physique now to what he looked like as a freshman, the change is dramatic. If Booker can make a similar change, add more muscle going into next season, combined with his shooting touch, there’s real potential there for him to become a very good player.
That said, I don’t expect to see the kind of jump needed this season to consistently compete with the caliber of bigs in our conference. I also think Tyler has a defensive ceiling, and he’s probably pretty close to it already. So in short, we will improve, the question is whether it will be enough to make us a contender. I'm not so sure.
