Cronin, like all coaches has his limitations. He had difficulty blending in a player like Mara into his system. To be fair, Cronin was adjusting and making inroads - just not fast enough.
Also, IMO, Mara was immature with his impatience. Again IMO Mara would have been better off staying with Cronin. If he had, IMO, he right now would be a better player and in the end would have been a much better well rounded player when he was done with college basketball.
Maybe he would not be getting as many minutes or maybe he would or maybe even more, but I believe he would have come out of this a much much better basketball player. Just my opinion, but I'm basing that opinion on what I've seen with Cronin players in the past and what I saw from Mara's time as a Bruin.
