Trust me, you have to weight all the component parts to make the various teams’ payrolls comparable.
You have to throw in luxury tax, where no one is remotely close to the dog$. And, most dramatically, you have to time-weight the obscene piles of deferred payroll that Pimp is stashing away.
I doubt the yanquis have, *on an all-in basis*, even one of the top fully weighted 13 MLB payroll standings. To simplify, look at the #s on which you’re staking your rep and see, IN JUST ONE SINGLE EXAMPLE, that an obvious $68 mil would have to be shifted over to the dollar$’ pile for comparability. And, I kniw you can subtract $2 mil from $70 mil, so help me Ohtani!
