Many people, if not most, interpreted Mara's statement about "lies" as a criticism of Cronin, implying that Mara was upset about being lied to about playing time, etc. At the time, I was wondering if, instead, maybe the "lies" he was upset about were those in the media and sites like this one regarding his supposedly making outrageous demands, NIL money, etc. I'd say today's article confirms it's the latter.
