Have stayed in Spain perhaps if he'd been able to work with UCLA's athletic trainer?

I understand from a coach's perspective wanting a player who is "all in" and committed to staying local for the summer. But I can also sympathize with a young kid who is 8 hours of time zone removed from his family wanting to see them for a bit.

Do we know what is the typical behaviour from other European college players?
