Now, I don’t watch any pro basketball, and I watch the Superbowl only because friends invite me - not because I particularly enjoy it. Details are too many and too varied to list here, but let’s just say I didn’t like the direction either was going.
I’m still with college basketball, but only because of my loyalty to UCLA, not because I like the way college basketball is going either. And my interest in UCLA football has waned over the past few years, though I still watch most of it.
The things that made sports so great (to me in my youth) no longer exist. Many more watch, but the new “fans” are there just because they like bells and whistles, IMO.
