Cam Spencer, who transferred to UConn following the 2022-2023 season, was one of the best players on UConn's title team of 2023-2024. He was one of UConn's two first team All Big East players.

The other was Tristen Newton, who transferred to UConn the year before. He was first team All American in 2023-2024.

Those two were easily UConn's best players. No UConn player made the All Big East second team.

So I would argue that transfers were a huge part of UConn's last championship run.

By the way, UCLA was one of four schools Spencer had considered transferring to before UConn's greater NIL offer prevailed.
