I agree. I know that the standard these days, at least from many fans' perspective, is that teams need big stars. It is my opinion, however, that a team can be very good with good players across the board playing as a team as long as the schemes fit the roster in terms of maximizing it's potential and the roster is balanced and deep enough to address most contingencies. I was very impressed with this team although it is going to have to continue to develop in order to compete successfully against better competition. I'm still anxious in terms of just how effective Alford can be with his coaching in order for this young but talented deep and balanced team can reach their potential. Given the makeup of the roster and how it projects in the coming year or two I would speculate that the more crucial needs in recruiting are with the point guard and wing positions. Losing out on the recruitment of a big man (like Baker) isn't as hurtful for the coming years as the potential failure moving forward to boost the two aforementioned positions IMO. It would have been nice to get Baker, but I think the Bruins will be okay in the next few years if they don't get another big time big man.
