I think you are dreaming here. Five star players are one and done by definition. It is the exception when one stays for his Soph year. Michigan and Nova attempt to recruit the 5 star guys, just as we do, however, they fail whereas we have a smattering of success. Unfortuantely, not at the Porter, Jr, Bagley, Barrett level, but instead the Hands, Wilkes level.

Belein and Wright ARE going after the same types players as we are, Wright has just had a ton of success keeping his players in school. We will see how he does now that a couple have departed tot he Association earlier than expected. Can we also stipulate that Wright is among the top 5 coaches in the country and Belien isnt far behind. Comparing Alford to them or Self, K, Izzo and Huckleberry is silly.

As much as I have initially resisted believing it, I think there is something different about going to school as a UCLA or USC or Miami student than nearly any other with major athletics program. There are so many hustlers, agents, and people pushing them to the pros, not to mention the communities are really professional towns. You are expected to go the NBA or NFL asap. For some reason Nova hasnt experienced that, but maybe the times are changing for them. I dont think Wright is signing kids bc they'll stay; they are the best he's able to get....and it's working. Ill still take the Duke approach, which I do understand is more controversial.
