We disagree on your last point. I would argue anybody can learn to shoot. If you don't have some physical attributes you may never become a good defender. I will grant you that it can take some time to develop as a shooter but in theory, I think it's more achievable for the common man to become a good shooter than for someone to be able to defend at the D1 level.
