back in San Diego in the 70s. I was in my early 40s and still in good shape and still played as much as I could. We had this charity team sponsored by KFMB radio (Charlie and Harrigan coached) with some local celebrities and a few of us ringers. We played a charity game with the PSA flight attendants team made up of mostly young good looking ladies with a couple of guys-(who weren't as good as the ladies). The game was at the San Diego Sports arena (same venue where Wooden won his 10th National Championship) as a preliminary to a SD Clippers pro game. Unfortunately, the young ladies weren't near the athletes or skilled players of today's women but they made up for it by using their unique defensive skills. Every time I tried to drive, the young lady guarding me grabbed the back of my pants including the back strap of my jock and slowed me down (and it was a bit painful at times:-)) But for some reason, the ref never called a foul on her. I looked over at him several times but he just laughed. But considering the one guarding me, I really didn't mind. Just another event to put in my "experience" data base.
