UCLA almost never takes a transfer, which I think is almost all due to Admissions. CSA tried to get Danuel House from Houston, but Admissions was at least delaying accepting him, and so he went to Texas A&M, and was very good. And we know about would--be grad transfer Octeus from Colorado State, who had about a 3.2 GPA, had a field he wanted to study here, but Graduate Admissions would not admit him, so he went to Purdue where he studied that field. After that, it looks as if we have given up on trying to get transfers in here; whereas Arizona has taken a carload of them, from wanywhere they can get them. So either we are a big disadvantage in that regard because of the stringent UCLA Admissions, or actually Admissions would be fine with getting the transfers Arizona lives on, and CSA is missing a great opportunity; or the next coach here would have no such disadvantage, and we would start getting many transfers like Arizona and Oregon do.
