No I've seen Bamba's workouts I'm just not convinced it's going to translate right away. I know Hanlan is a very well respected shot doctor but Bamba still has a bit of a hitch he stil sets and then comes up on the 3. That may not matter in the NBA, teams are probably going to dare him to make that and prove he can, but it still doesn't look totally smooth to me. Much improved from college, much better follow through, but not as natural as say Ayton looks on his shot.

Of the 3, Bamba is the best rim protector, Ayton has the best feet, and Bagley has the most questions defensively. I say that because Bagley was guarding smaller guys at Duke and frankly got killed doing it.

Bamba also has some interesting questions although it was 2 on 1, Bagley and Wendell Carter killed Bamba when Duke played Texas. Bagley had 34 and 15, Carter had 14 and 11 and was 6-9 from the floor. Bamba only had 9 points, 2 blocks and fouled out.

I think the idea is all these kids have serious questions so the thinking is take the 7 footer over the smaller less athletic guys like Doncic and Young. That may in fact be wrong, but I think that's the thinking.

Young is also hard to gauge, at the halfway point of the season he looked like a smaller Curry, the 2nd half of the season very obvious holes showed up, for the year he shot 42% overall and 36 from 3, was that just because OU had nobody else, or because he took so many bad shots? His defense was non existent at times, can he guard anybody in the NBA we don't really know. I think he'll be just fine he can shoot and he's got great vision but I do think teams will exploit the hell out of him on defense his first year or two.

Doncic I just haven't seen enough to know.

So if you have the first pick the safest pick is probably Ayton, nobody is going to fire you for picking Ayton over anybody else even if he doesn't turn out to be the best guy. If you take Young or Doncic, and you're wrong, you get fired over that pick.
