has lived in Birmingham for years and is a big Alabama fan even though his bachelors and masters degrees were from the University of Missouri. He was an outstanding athlete there (and in their sports hall of fame) and knows what it takes in any sport to be effective. Played defensive back on Missouri's football team and a 2 time All American on Missouri's baseball team. He could have also played on their basketball team but he decided two sports were enough.

Originally he thought that Alabama had a good chance to beat UCONN, but after he saw them play, he quickly acknowledged the same points you have been making regarding UCONN. He now favors UCONN to beat Purdue. Should be a good game.

But today, my wife and I are focused on Iowa and S. Carolina. Both #1 seeds. Should be a good game. We haven't watched much women's basketball prior to this year (but have watched a lot of women's softball for years) but we have become fans of their game---primarily moved there by Caitlin. However, there are many really good women players/athletes out there these days, besides Caitlin, and I'm impressed by their skills. I was amazed at how pretty of a jump shot (as good as many men's) that UCONN's star player, Paige Bueckers, has. Picture perfect form with good elevation prior to a high release. Haven't seen many women with that nice of a jump shot, not even Caitlin.
