When you say “middle” do you mean mid-range? If so, the reason is because that’s the offense. Why would one run something that’s not constantly drilled? I’m a big proponent of driving to the hoop and making the ref call the foul, a layup, a shot in the paint or a pass to the cutter or an open 3, but the mid range shot is just a poor decision, mathematically.
