What % of 3s that miss end up as o rebs?

Because here is what I see.

D'Angelo Russell takes a 3 for LAL. As soon as he releases the ball, the Lakers retreat on d. All 5.

D'Angelo shoots the ball with great arc. 95% of nba players shoot wth great arc. Shooting with great arc increases the chances of the ball going in (cleanly or off the bounce).

High arcing shots do NOT bounce far away. They bounce high... but not far. That's why the o just gives up. They know the d has inside position. They know most nba shooters are good and that they're most likely to miss long or short, but not off left or right. So crashing the glass is 1) a risk of getting a loose ball foul, which cuts into a guy's pt (ugh, don't want that) or 2) a risk of creating a transition opportunity for the opponent.

I think the sooner #1 is exposed for the wive's tale it is, the better.
