Is a double teamed post low post shot better than a wide open middie? I only throw the question out there (for it to surely be adamantly, vehemently, and very likely vociferously shot down) because I like middies. Seems like DA make a lot of his hay hitting 10-12 footers. And, Amari Baily before him.

I think Pitino was a pioneer in his commitment to the 3 ball. I remember an article about his team with Mashburn. The reporter covering the team was at a practice. During the practice the ball rotated around the perimeter to a tall guy who was a starter but nothing special. The guy kept the ball moving. Pitino stopped practice and berated the guy saying "At Kentucky, we take that shot." It came off as being pretty harshly stated in the article.

I did a quick google search of: Pitino Kentucky "three point." That article didn't come up, but this one did about Pitino's emphasis of the 3 point shot, which was pretty anomalous at the time.
