coaches keep commenting how the NBA is a different game. Analytics makes sense for sure, but at the college level, going all three pointers or dunks and nothing else sets you up for a large number of wins but when you hit that cold shooting night during a one-and-out tournament like the NCAAs it also makes you very vulnerable to losing it all that one time out of six. In the NBA you can put together a cadre of super accurate shooters and the playoffs are series where even if that elite group hits a bad night on the same night you can overcome it the rest of the series.

At the college level, although three point shooting has certainly improved with a whole generation of kids who pretty much look to do little else, it's harder to build a team that deep with deadeye three point shooters and there's no recovery from that bad shooting night - or even that five minute cold spell near the end of your game in the Tournament. I still love the mid-range shot, JJJ's game. There's still a place.

But as you said, it's one thing to know something is happening but seeing that chart - seeing is definitely believing. Thanks for sharing that
