Creighton really a beautiful team to watch. Not sure they will cool off - this is what they do. They did it last game to get to this one.
They are smothering Betts and Lauren isn't nearly as accurate when she can't just go up and lift the ball into the hoop. She started off something like 5 for 5 (within a shot of that) and is now 7-11. But they have to get her touches. Also, with the defense Creighton is forced to play on her, they need to find others open - Rice, Osborne - and make the Blue Jays pay for filling the paint on defense.
They are clearly trying to get the sophomore Jones jump started again - think it was Saturday she started 0-8 or something but she finished 3-12. But she is such a liability on defense - they just showed a clip of a Creighton player shooting a three right over her - didn't even bother to notice the defender at all. It's tough.
Key stats - we're up 7-1 in offensive rebounds but haven't capitalized on that yet - often putting up another miss right away. CU is shooting 58% overall and 56% from three. UCLA is 42% overall and 20% from three.
Three Blue Jays have 38 of their team's 42 points - the best with 17
Betts has 14, Rice has 7 and Jaquez 6.
Osborne has only 3, Brown has 4 (has played some good defense)
