i think Berke is the key. I think he sticks with B Will no matter what - very young player, tough. Doubtful he's ready to be the primary PF next season - especially in the B1G.

Question is Berke. Does Mick Cronin believe Berke is ready to hold up that position next season?

If not, then I 100% agree with you - if we have only one ride and can find a starting-ready PF, that's what I take.

But he has to evaluate his entire roster - Freeny seems very talented and for a critical position - but is he ready to be the guy in his first year in college?

I don't think Cronin can afford to take that chance. If so, he has to clear another spot, another ride.

May well be that's not a problem at all, that one or two players will clear the ride for him by choosing to leave. The other possibilities are that one or more of the returning players demands more NIL money than fits Cronin's plan for his program or that Cronin lands a prospect he thinks is too good to resist and one of the current players decides that takes away his potential playing time for next year and chooses to move on of his own accord

I think we should expect current players to improve next year. Cronin has worked with them all year, practices as well as games. He knows what injuries they've had and how those have affected them. Specifically, if he believes Andrews and Mack are going to be good shooters next season - healthy and with this year under their belts - then the question falls to his expectations of Freeny and McClendon as the other two guards. Not good enough? Got to find a shooter - big time.
