To me, getting some better scoring is going to be essential

when they move to the BIG conference next year. Defense will only carry you so far as we saw this season with the Bruins. As you know, you still have to outscore your opponents to win and, IMO, a good high level three point shooter more than makes up for his "perceived" weakness on the D end in Cronin's system. If he can outscore the guy he is primarily responsible for guarding, he has offset his defensive deficiency (assuming he isn't a good defensive player). And at 6'7-6'8, I believe Clark would be a better option, overall, than the 6'1 guard from Penn.

But with so many high powered offensive teams looking for good three point shooters, I'd say the Bruins are at a disadvantage at getting some of these offensive players since the Bruins are noted as having defense as the top priority. And like most high scorers/good shooters, they love to play with teams that prioritize offense. Regardless, I'm still hoping the Bruins get lucky and land a few good shooting transfers. They will need them to be highly competitive in the BIG, IMO.
