it's not exactly like any big name coaches without baggage (talking about Sean Miller here) were interested in the job. Miller would have jumped at the chance to come to Columbus,but hiring him would have been insane. He's as crooked as a dog's hind legs.
Under the current circumstances, Jake is a good fit. Expectations for the basketball team are rock bottom. Never been lower in my lifetime. What's to lose?
Jake deserves a shot. He brought the team back from the dead. When given the interim title, Ohio State had not won a road game in more than a year. That's crazy. Under Jake, the group started playing defense, looking for the open man ... entertaining basketball had returned to Columbus.
Jake has proven he can coach a little. Let's seen how he recruits and hopefully the fat cats are willing to improve the attractiveness of the hoops NIL treasure chest.
In the final analysis, that will determine how successful Jake will be.
