But it is a really dumb way to pick a champion. Needing to win 3 or more games on successive days doesn't represent anything.

Of course a one-and-done NCAA tournament suffers some of the same issues, but at least it is not an endurance contest and a schedule designed to increase the odds of kids getting injured.
