Early this season I characterized one of the elements of a young inexperienced team as sometimes looking like they can beat anyone while sometimes also looking like they can't beat anyone. I think that has played out for this team.

Going into the tournament the Bruins have won conference games that they could have easily lost. They've also lost conference games they could have easily won. And that's pretty much true against every school the Bruins played against. So, anything could happen. They could win 4 games or they could lose the first.

If the Bruins are playing well and can sustain it for several games I like their chances. Having said that, however, the Bruins this year have mostly not played well and so the likelihood of the Bruins going on a four game run are probably slim at best.

Going game to game their chances for the first game look good. If that comes to fruition their chances against Oregon look probably even or so. After that things look pretty grim. So, it is what it is. Regardless of what happens over the next few days, I believe the Bruins have improved enough to perhaps give Cronin a little more solid footing to progress with this team next year, determine who to build around, and have a better idea or what's needed in terms of development and added players to continue to move toward, what I still believe is, a substantial potential for this team.

In terms of expectations for the next few days, I have none. I'll be watching with much interest to see how this young team responds to the challenge ahead and I think whatever does happen I will embrace with no disappointment and hopefully good feelings for next year.
