My father used to claim that Baylor would take the basketball, push forward with the ball to clear space, then take his shot. No one could take the ball away from him when he did that. Wikipedia says Baylor was given a ring for the 1972 season, but only played a few games early that year (I had just started to follow the NBA). The knee issues Baylor had really prevented the Lakers from putting West, Baylor, Goodrich, and Chamberlain into the team they might have been in the late 1960s.
