Alford was given a contract extension of a year for $3.5 million.
He canceled it. So, he cost himself $3.5 million.
What does "no" mean?
Do you mean he didn't return money that had already been paid to him? That would be true, but irrelevant to UCLA now having $3.5 million available to spend on something else and Alford being $3.5 million poorer, his contract ending sooner and his buy-out being reduced as well.
